Authentic Texas Wines in the Heart of the Hill Country

Our Hill Country winery and tasting room are situated on 100­ acres just west of Johnson City, in the heart of the Texas Hill Country AVA, the second most­ visited wine country in the US! Conveniently located on Highway 290, 60 minutes west of Austin, 60 minutes north of San Antonio and 30 minutes east of Fredericksburg, our tasting room is primarily outdoors with excellent views of the Pedernales River Basin. We pride ourselves on a laid-back unpretentious tasting experience with knowledgeable staff and authentic Texas wines.

Directions

From Johnson City take 290 west towards Fredericksburg.  Go roughly 3 miles and look for big propane tanks on the left (south) side of the road. We are the first entrance on the left after the propane tanks. Look for the blue highway sign, then wine barrels and large boulders at the gate entrance.

From the west (Fredericksburg, Stonewall, Hye, etc.) take 290 east towards Johnson City.  We are roughly 6 miles east of Hye, Texas.  Our entrance is on the right (south) immediately following a guard rail about 1.5 miles east of Tow Head Creek.  Look for the blue highway sign, then wine barrels and boulders at the gate entrance.

CLASSIC TASTING

The Classic Tasting includes our staple wines, as our guests explore what Lewis Wines is all about. Enjoy your tasting indoors or outside on our beautiful deck with a serene view of our vineyard. This tasting is $10 and includes a 1 oz pour of four different wines. Guests will receive a personable and enjoyable experience learning about our values and vineyard/winery practices from one of our knowledgeable tasting room staff. WINEMAKER'S CHOICE TASTING

This tasting offers a unique experience with wines that are considered our winemaker's top picks when it comes to the vintage, vineyard, and winemaking style. Each of these wines is subject to change based on the season and limited availability. Guests will receive a personable and enjoyable experience learning about our values and practices from one of our knowledgeable tasting room staff. The Winemakers Choice is a $20 tasting that includes 1oz pours of four different wines hand-selected by our winemakers, Duncan and Doug. EDUCATIONAL TASTING AND WINERY TOUR

We also offer our Educational Tasting and Winery Tour package for those of you looking for a more in-depth experience. One of our knowledgeable Tasting Room staff members will guide you through an educational tasting of our current releases and seasonal favorites, followed by an immersive tour of our wine production facility. Tastings are on Saturdays only and $20/person for Club Members, $40/person for non-Club Members. Group size is limited to 8. WINEMAKER TASTING

For a more in-depth experience, consider our Winemaker Tasting. Join us for an intimate tasting among the barrels and tanks led by one of our winemakers. Learn about wine growing in Texas and how decisions made in the vineyard and winery impact the wine in your glass. We will taste you through a rotating selection of library and limited-edition wines only accessible through this unique experience. Tastings are available on Saturdays at 11am for up to 8 guests. Price is $55 a person for club members (membership includes 2 guests) and $75 a person for non-club members. Please note, this tasting is for wine only. We encourage you to eat breakfast or a snack prior to your reservation.
